The tournament was first held in 1984 at Glengarry Country Club and later moved to its current location, Highland Meadows Golf Club in 1988. The event is named after local Toledo celebrity Jamie Farr, who many know him as Corporal Clinger on the television show M.A.S.H. and other numerous shows. The event has now become the largest sporting event in the region drawing fans of all ages to watch the best LPGA golfers compete. The Jamie Farr Toledo Classic attracts over 70,000 spectators each year and is a very popular stop on the tour. This years tournament has a purse of $1,300,000! The tournament has stuck to its roots since the beginning, maintaining a quality event and experience for all sponsors, volunteers, and spectators. The tournament has continued its tradition of supporting the local Toledo area children's charities. All proceeds go towards the charities, and the tournament has raised $7.4 million for over 100 charities.
